For a man whose business sense and creative inclination have equally added to his success as hotelier and restaurateur, Sean MacPherson is perhaps more relaxed than expected. For one thing, the man cuts his own hair. With his partner Eric Goode, he owns the Jane Hotel, the Bowery Hotel, the Waverly Inn, the Maritime, and the Park restaurant. It’s said that MacPherson brings his Californian vibe to New York nightlife, having become one of the brightest names since his switch to the East Coast in the early ‘00s. He enjoys the creative parts of his positions most, taking care with the interior design of each new creation where he tries to marry the excitement clientele might have over good food or service with the intricate aesthetics of the space. Now 46, MacPherson is finally opening a restaurant (Il Covo in L.A.) geared towards where he is in life, as much of his earlier endeavors cater to people in their 20s. MacPherson recently married Rachelle Hruska.
